Hi Bay Piggies,

I?d like to propose a workshop session - building web apps with nothing but Python using Anvil.

Anvil is a bit like Visual Basic for the web - it's got a drag-and-drop UI designer, both client-side and server-side code in Python, and a built in database. You don?t need any JavaScript or frameworks, so anyone who knows a bit of Python can get something built and deployed pretty quickly. Correct - Anvil is Freemium service that includes hosting as well as the development environment and libraries.

Is there a rule in Baypiggies that only open source systems can be discussed?

Guido at CNRI and Pythonlabs, and lead the GNU Mailman project until 2017,
through the transition to a REST-based architecture and port to Python 3.
Once upon a time he lead the Jython project. He contributed large parts of
the related 'email' standard library module. He has vigorously advocated
for Python 3 adoption; he has helped with infrastructure; with the security
list; and he has served as the Python release manager for several versions.
Barry co-chaired the Python Language Summit at the last several US Python
conferences. He was the recipient of the 2014 Frank Willison Memorial Award
for his contributions to the Python community. Barry is a Debian and Ubuntu
developer and currently works for our host LinkedIn on the Python
Foundation team.

I will be teaching the course titled, "Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence with TensorFlow" for the 4th time at the UCSC Extension in Santa Clara. The course will cover all the important deep learning topics such as multilayer perceptron, convolutional neural network, and recurrent neural network. We will discuss both the theoretical underpinnings of deep learning and also its practical implementation.

The course starts on September 25th 2018 and ends on December 11th, 2018 and will be held every Tuesday from 6:30pm-9:30 pm.

Someone pointed me in the direction of this talk. I'm only half way through the video and I'm thinking:

- Are there screen readers specifically for a programming language?
- If we had a screen reader for Python, is there a PEP on how it would be read/how it would sound? (Could someone read it in a way that another person could write it (passing pycodestyle) and the diffs between the files would be minimal?
- Are there any members of our community now who have have experience with vision issues writing Python code?
