Maude Ave, Sunnyvale, CA Note that this is a *new location* -- the October location was temporary, due to LinkedIn's move. The new room holds 250 people! *Abstract* This talk will be a historical tour of the Django project's approach to security. We'll cover how Django's security policies have evolved over its eleven-year history, the ways the framework has integrated security as a major goal, and what we can learn from looking at patterns in the security issues that have occurred in Django. *About the Speaker* James has been using Django almost since the day it was publicly released, and a member of the Django core team since 2007. He currently serves on the Django security team and technical board, and as a Director of the Django Software Foundation. At his day job, James works to reinvent health insurance as part of the engineering team at Clover Health in San Francisco. *RSVP* Please RSVP at meetup: https://www.meetup.com/BAyPIGgies/events/232817003/ This will give us an idea of how many will attend (to order food, etc.). -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... No beginning programmers please, but you can certainly be new to Python. If you are a bit rusty at programming, you might be more comfortable in an evening course that meets once a week so you have some time to absorb the concepts. You'll find those at the same url. Also, an online class is starting now: http://course.ucsc-extension.edu/modules/shop/index.html?action=section&OfferingID=1531625&SectionID=5278865 officially starts on Dec 20 but the site is open for an early start, now. The online classes allow you plenty of time to complete the material, and I'm there encouraging you and answering your questions. ---- All our Python courses are hands-on with short lectures, and lots of relevant exercises, and, we study the solutions after some lab time. Questions are always welcome; discussion and pair-programming are encouraged. Please come, and send students!
