Oh come on, be nice. We might not have had TurboGears without a  
project like Rails. ;)

Seriously, in the Python web world, making so many decisions for a  
user, instead of giving them 'ultimate flexibility to choose their  
tools' would have been enough to get you lynched. Now that there's a  
project that shows the obvious advantages of making all the 'tough'  
decisions for you, the benefits are fairly obvious. Though I've  
forgotten what they are at the moment....
