Dear Astropy Colleagues,

I’m writing to encourage you to participate in the NOAO Community Survey
for Astro2020.

The survey is a way to voice your resource needs and priorities for the
2020s. The results will help shape NOAO’s priorities and input to
Astro2020. Please encourage your department and research colleagues to join
you in responding to the survey. Because the survey is about future
resource needs, we hope to hear from students, so please encourage them to
participate.

In the survey, you can describe your needs for facilities, telescopes,
instruments, observing modes, software, archival data, time domain
services, survey and data discovery services, student and mentor training,
and more.

Consistent with NOAO’s “open skies” policy, we are interested in input from
both US-based and non-US-based scientists.

This links to the Currents article that describes the survey:

The survey can be accessed directly here:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DL2YCPK

Feel free to skip portions of the survey that aren’t of interest. The
penultimate page asks about priorities in a funding-limited environment
(i.e., the “money question”), so don’t miss that one!

The closing date for the survey is *Friday, May 17.*

Please direct any questions about the survey to Joan Najita, NOAO Chief
Scientist (cc’ed).

Thanx,
Benjamin Alan Weaver
