[AstroPy] DS9 color tables in Python (Megan Sosey)

Hi Megan,

Thanks - I looked in that menu,
Color > Colormap Parameters,
but in my ds9, the window it pops up only has sliders for
contrast and bias, no load/save controls.  I was wrong
about the version, I have ds9 6.1.2, so perhaps this
came back in version 7.

​The cmap file format has been around forever,​ my friend
Povilas Palunas wrote a parser for SAOimage cmap files
in Fortran (!!)​ when we were in grad school, so inter-operating
with it is nice.
