About the role

We are growing - and we are seeking to hire a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, reporting to and working closely with our CTO!

This is a senior role, and you will be instrumental in defining our engineering culture and best practices as we grow. We are looking for people who can demonstrate how they have developed, shipped, scaled, and maintained great products and who understand what matters at each stage of the release cycle and of the company’s development.

The annual fee for a contractor in this position is up to 180,000 USD with meaningful stock options, depending on skills and experience, and is a remote position!

Our tech stack

  • Front-end: JavaScript, React, Apollo, SASS, Cypress
  • Back-end: Python, Django, Django REST Framework, GraphQL (graphene), pytest, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis, SQS
  • Infrastructure: AWS, Terraform, Docker

What you will be working on

  • Architecting, building, maintaining, and testing our core backend APIs
  • Backend microservices using AWS Lambda
  • Scaling and optimizing complex queries over large amounts of dynamic data
  • Multiple React web apps
  • Third party API integrations
  • Maintaining, securing, and improving our cloud-based infrastructure
  • Reviewing PRs
  • Testing everything

Requirements

What you need for this role

  • 5+ years of experience across our core stack: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, AWS, JavaScript
  • Professional experience with ReactJS, GraphQL, and Terraform
  • Experience working with and scaling distributed systems
  • An unhealthy obsession with TDD
  • Enjoy rapid iterations and be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
  • Problem solver willing to dip their toes in unfamiliar territory and think outside the box
  • Bonus points for experience with deploying AI NLP models

Interview process

We are completely against anything that looks like a hazing ritual. Our interview process aims to be low-stress and fair… and dare I say innovative?

It starts with the 20-minute Bryq assessment that we ask all employees (including our CEO) to take. It gives us valuable insight into your strengths, and also happens to be our core product offering that you’ll be working on!

After that, you will get to know if you go on to the next round of the interviewing process which includes speaking to HR and our CTO.
