Job Description

Responsibilities

• Design & develop highly scalable APIs & infrastructure
• Containerize & CI/CD applications in a modern DevOps paradigm
• Contribute to architecture decisions & communicate well with other engineers
• Build beautiful applications for client’s users/customers
• Collaborate with other teams including product, UX, services, support & customers as needed
• Utilize Python, Django, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and more on a daily basis
• Work in Google Cloud and AWS
• Work in a GNU/Linux environment
• Work in an agile-based environment using tools like GitHub and Slack

Requirements

MUST HAVE BACKGROUND

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of software engineering experience building commercial-scale applications in the cloud
• 3+ years as a Python developer including coding in Python on a daily basis
• Personal drive & motivation to make a difference in a growing company
• Takes initiative in learning new things, specifically new technologies
• Interest & ability in mentoring more junior-level developers or other team members
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
• No sponsorship available

About the Company

Horn Solutions has partnered with a local startup client to bring on a Senior Python Engineer for their growing team here in Austin. This would be a 100% remote opportunity. This person will be responsible for developing a high-scale application used currently by over one million customers in the higher education field.
