Nico Consultancy require a python developer to gain valuable insight into the front end and back end workings of the IM&M suite of network management tools. This will involve not only fixing development issues but also writing interfaces into third party devices, products and solutions.
IM&M is an intelligent building management solution, that can ingest data from a large number of devices, sensors, and other software programmes to provide visibility and control over owner/occupier’s estates.
We provide environmental, occupancy, energy and integrate loosely with building management systems all of which need to be continually developed and enhanced. We pride ourselves on making a difference reducing organisations carbon footprint whilst also reducing their operational costs.
As the knowledge of the system increases the role will be working on the code base enhancing the feature set in line with the strategic requirements of our customers. Full product and other agreed training will be provided but this person will be expected to be able to work very quickly on their own initiative or with limited supervision from established developers within the team.
This role involves flexibility and passion, one day you will be integrating a sensor, the next interfacing with a room booking systems. From lighting to occupancy and wellbeing integration, we need someone for can find solutions enjoys variety and loves a challenge, and that's just the beginning.

- Python (Django) or Golang experience
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks like Vue or ReactJS
- Good back end development knowledge
- Ability to create a detailed specifications document
- Good documentation and communication skills are vital
- Linux (preferably Ubuntu)
- MySQL as this is currently the back-end database. (Going forward the product will be moving to a PostgresSQL database).
- Web based design and implementation
- Any other programming skills like C# or .Net
- Experience working with and scaling microservices
- Amazon Web Services knowledge or other hosting platforms
- Security knowledge for web services would be beneficial
- Background knowledge of local or wide area networks would also be advantageous.
