Gunnison is seeking energetic and dedicated team members with good foundations that will provide support for our client with cutting edge of open source geo-spatial technology development.
Location: Suitland, MD - Easily Accessible by car or Metro, free parking. Telework one day a week.
The Application Programmer must be skilled in Python development and familiar GIS. The project specializes in QGIS Open Source Solution Customization and the new team member will work on an Agile Scrum team using Python custom modules. The Application Programmer will assist with designing and developing new and innovative features for a new GEO-Spatial solution for our client. The Developer will be mentored and exposed to cutting edge technology
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Scrum Team Member focused on software development activities Responsible for designing, developing, and modifying system components Ensures all software is fully unit tested and ready for each sprint review Development of Python Plugins for a QGIS Open Source Solution

3-5 years of experience
Python Experience Geospatial/GIS knowledge/training/coursework Must be a team player and have excellent written and oral communication skills BS degree in Computer Sciences or related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered), or equivalent work experience. Ability to pass a US Government Background investigation (national agency check, Secret or TS not required).
Familiar with Agile Scrum Experience with QGIS Familiar with GEO-Spatial concepts such as topology Good communication Skills
