Python Developer - Grid/Cloud Workload Management

Job Description

Work with a team of developers, computing services specialists, and scientists to contribute to the development, deployment and support of the workflow/workload management system (GlideinWMS) used by scientists to provision and manage computational resources in Grids, HPC Clusters and Commercial / Community based Cloud service providers.

Support the existing GlideinWMS workflow/workload management system on Girds / Clusters • Design and Python development of the next generation service for GlideinWMS utilization on Cloud products (commercial and community) • Python Code development for enhancements and bug fixes • Provide support to the Scientific operations group & user support of the application suite

Requirements

  • 2-6 years of Python development experience or a CS Master's degree
  • Proficiency in Python and/or C/C++ languages
  • Software development and integration on Linux/UNIX platforms required
  • Experience with supporting applications and users in Linux/UNIX required
  • Experience with distributed systems / networked applications highly desirable
  • Experience with one or more large batch system deployments (HTCondor, PBS/ Torque, Grid Engine) highly desirable
  • Experience with HTML5, XML, JSON, JavaScript highly desirable
  • Excellent analytical skills with regard to distributed computing systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment of scientists and computing professionals
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple assignments in the project
