Good! I really hope it hasn't taken him 10 years, like it happened
in the totally unrelated case of Boolean datatypes... ;-)

That *is* part of the problem. I really don't like inconsistencies.
I can stand them if there is a good reason for their existence,
but it should be very clearly indicated. In this case I'm not sure
they are. I'll check your book again, to see what it says on that
point! ;-)
