Initial Comment:
After installing Python locally (with ./configure
--prefix=$HOME) and installing PyXML, the scripts such
as xmlproc_parse were installed, as expected, in
$HOME/bin.  However, the bangpath headers in these
scripts for some reason are

#/usr/local/bin/python

Which does not exist, causing them to fail.

This is on Debian sid Linux
