Very few parsers return attribute values as plain strings and arguably
they would be in violation of the XML spec....unless it were an option
you could turn off it would be really annoying. Attempting to get the
exact string representation of an XML document is swimming against the
tide defined in the XML spec. That could be interpreted as a flaw in XML
but it doesn't really matter. If you try it, it's going to be really,
really painful...even with sgmlop/xmllib. (try getting the attributes in
the right order...)
