[Tutor] Importing sub modules

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if there is a difference in

>>>import os
>>>os.path.join(string1,string2)
AND 
>>>import os.path
>>>os.path.join(string1,string2)


The only difference that I could think of is if the os module does not get loaded on the second example. I am not sure if it does.
