A lot of good conversation was started. We had one of the better turn-outs for the after meeting as well. PyCon slides: http://pycon.github.com/2013-slides/ PyCon videos: http://pyvideo.org/category/33/pycon-us-2013 Normally we keep recruiters off this list. But there are a couple of guys in Boston who have a start-up. They aren't recruiters per se. But they are recruiting for their company. And they keep trying to subscribe, despite the warnings on our subscription form. The thing is, the Python position they are recruiting for is for here in NC. I don't know why a Boston start-up wants to find a developer here. But I think this is enough of an anomaly to make an exception and post their job for them. The only thing I know about them is that they got $500K in funding from the Boston Angels VC group. If you do contact them and find concerns, please let me know so I can better judge whether to make this kind of exception in the future: http://www.linkedin.com/jobs?viewJob=&jobId=5128802 -- Sincerely, Chris Calloway http://nccoos.org/Members/cbc office: 3313 Venable Hall phone: (919) 599-3530 mail: Campus Box #3300, UNC-CH, Chapel Hill, NC 27599 From cbc at unc.edu Mon Apr 1 17:50:00 2013 From: cbc at unc.edu (Chris Calloway) Date: Mon, 01 Apr 2013 11:50:00 -0400 Subject: [TriZPUG] Raleigh Project Night Tuesday April 2 and Other Things In-Reply-To: <5159A19A.5050902@unc.edu> References: <5159A19A.5050902@unc.edu> Message-ID: <5159ACA8.6040303@unc.edu> On 4/1/2013 11:02 AM, Chris Calloway wrote: > Normally we keep recruiters off this list. OK, that makes sense. The listed position is for someone to recruit and build a team, which seemed... odd for a long-distance telecommuter. =jimA= Jim Allman Interrobang Digital Media http://www.ibang.com/ (919) 649-5760 From justis.peters at gmail.com Mon Apr 1 19:55:03 2013 From: justis.peters at gmail.com (Justis Peters) Date: Mon, 01 Apr 2013 13:55:03 -0400 Subject: [TriZPUG] Raleigh Project Night Tuesday April 2 and Other Things In-Reply-To: <5159ACA8.6040303@unc.edu> References: <5159A19A.5050902@unc.edu> <5159ACA8.6040303@unc.edu> Message-ID: <5159C9F7.3040605@gmail.com> On 04/01/2013 11:50 AM, Chris Calloway wrote: >> http://www.linkedin.com/jobs?viewJob=&jobId=5128802 > > I back copied the guys at Testive and heard back from one of the > founders, Miro Kazakoff (the other founder is Tom Rose). He's a really good person and Testive looks like it has potential. I've used one of their existing products and it was well polished. For anyone open to considering a new position, I recommend that you at least reach out to them and talk.
