Don, ThunderBayes has been unsupported for quite awhile. While I'd like to get it incorporated into the SpamBayes suite of offerings I just haven't had the time and apparently nobody else has. So far. I guess your message implies that it doesn't work at all (at Don> the moment) with any version of Thunderbird and that Win 98SE is Don> irrelevant to the problem. Yes, sorry about that. The matrix is a bit out-of-date. That entry dates from before we knew it was unsupported. I don't know if Win98SE is part of the problem, though it would appear to nominally be OK. The Outlook plugin is supposed to work on Win98. (What does the "SE" mean?) Just for grins I installed it on Thunderbird 2.0.0.23 on my Mac yesterday. It seemed to install ok, though I'm not sure it actually worked. (I use IMAP instead of POP3 to fetch mail.) At any rate I didn't get the error you got. I think ThunderBayes works by firing up the SpamBayes POP3 proxy (sb_server.py) in the background and just makes for tighter integration of that tool with T-Bird. If you are using POP3 to fetch your mail you might try using it directly: http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/applications.html If you are using IMAP take a look at running sb_imapfilter.py. In either case you'll have to install Python yourself. (A Windows binary version is bundled with ThunderBayes.) Python for Windows is available here: http://www.python.org/download/ Go for the 2.6.2 Windows installer, not the 3.1.1 version. Don> Let me know when something is functional again. That might be awhile. Resources available to devote to SpamBayes are few and far between these days. Short term your better path to a spam-free nirvana would be installing SpamBayes 1.1a4 and running either the POP3 proxy or the IMAP filter. This is in the same place on the toolbar both in the Inbox and in the Junk Suspects folder, so I get used to clicking on it quite frequently. On the rather less frequent occasions when I go into the Junk E-mail folder, there is a button in the same place on the toolbar with a similar yellow face and I find that I have quite often clicked this to delete messages out of habit. No sooner have I clicked it that I realise that this is the 'Recover from Spam' button which has moved over from its 'normaI' place and I should have used the delete button instead, which is in a different place on the toolbar. I'm not sure of the consequences to the learning routine is having trained it well to then go and recover a whole pile of rotten spam by accident, but it is an easy mistake to make. Is there any chance please of adding a delete button on the toolbar in the Junk E-mail folder to make the user interface more consistent please? Recently, I have been getting more emails with the sender putting the entire (short) message on the Subject line, leaving the body completely blank. This is probably a result of more people sending email from mobile devices. SpamBayes frequently (always?) moves those messages to my "maybe spam" folder, which due to my comfort with the reliability of SpamBayes, I haven't been looking at that regularly. Is there a way to stop this, so that "Subject Line Only" emails do not get moved? Thanks for the great program, and any help you can offer here.
