Note that while most of the results returned by Amedee's search indicate problems with this configuration, at least one user reports success: http://mail.python.org/pipermail/spambayes/2007-March/020642.html.  So you may want to try it and see.  I don't think you'll have to invest a lot of time in trying it out.
