If shift-click would be useful to you, then Spambayes is the wrong spam
filter for you.  It means that a huge proportion of messages are being
wrongly classified - the chances of several consecutive messages being
wrongly classified once your system is even slightly trained (say, on a
hundred messages) should be vanishingly small.  If your situation (you
said "our definition of what constitutes legitimate mail is abnormal")
means that's not true for you, I'm afraid we need to admit defeat - no
matter we do to the user interface, Spambayes is never going to work well
for you.

That said, I'd still appreciate a pointer to the web standards you're
talking about, and ideally an example page to look at.  Multiselection in
anything other than a <select multiple size='N'> control is a new concept
to me - I'm interested!
