Summary: Outlook.exe not stopping
Initial Comment:
This is a side note on a previous thread. I have noticed
several times that Outlook.exe is still running in my task
manager even after Outlook is closed. Sometimes
several copies! I think this started after i started using
SpamBayes, but not positive. However I did notice that
when i was troubleshooting a visual basic application
that I wrote something odd happened.
I create an object of Outlook in my code to gain access
to my contacts and at the end of the code I set it to
nothing. Well at home i always had a copy outlook that
would not close. At work, it always closed. I disabled
spambayes at home (not using it at work) and same
results, outlook.exe running every time. Finally i
uninstalled spambayes and it works fine! I dont like not
having spambayes but it is certainly responsible for my
app not being able to close outlook.
Hopefully this situation will help track down this
outlook.exe bug. Because i am pretty sure that
spambayes is preventing my app from closing outlook,
perhaps the plugin also prevents the user from closing
sometimes.
email me at irkgreen at hotmail.com to converse.
