Summary: Does not train on messages in public folders

Initial Comment:
Hi -

When I attempted to train spambayes, I checked off
three personal folders and three Public Folders on our
Exchange server for spam training. When done, the
training database only reports 55 messages (the number
in my personal folders). It seems to be ignoring the 263
messages in the public folder that were checked. Log is
attached.

Versions:

Outlook 2002
Exchange 2000
OS: XP Professional
SpamBayes Outlook add-in: 0.81

Questions:

Should this work?
Why doesn't it?
Is there another way to train the db on these messages?
Can you configure spambayes to filter mail being sent to
a public folder?

Thank!

dad

Apologies for the glacial delay. Support requests often get
missed as people concentrate on the bug reports and mailing
list traffice. Not sure if this is still relevant, but in
case it is:

1. We deliberately don't filter any "non-mail" items. This
includes what Outlook calls IPM.Notes and IPM.Anti-Virus
(the former are often called 'posts', I think). Messages in
public folders may be for the former type, which would
explain this. If you want this changed, then you'll have to
convince Mark it's a good idea (which might not be hard).

2. The log has a variety of access denied errors. I'm not
sure whether this is related to training or not. In the
advanced options of the Manager dialog there is the option
to turn off saving the spam info, which might make a
difference. Things related to access have also been fixed
since 0.81, so that might also help.
