Summary: Outlook XP Corrupted
Initial Comment:
I installed the lates version of Bayesian Anti-Spam
software (007) onto my XP Professional box using
Outlook XP with all of the latest patches as of 8/8/03. I
also use McAfee 6.0 with the latest virus dat and
updates, inluding it's Outlook Hawk add-in.
I pull mail from several internet services and from an
Exchange server.
The install seemed to work fine and Outlook started and
all appeared fine. I couldn't do much with the tool since
it needed at least 5 valid and 5 invalid emails to begin
classifying them. But at one point, as I was receiving
mail and Outlook locked up for a moment, then
terminated. When I restarted, I received an immediate
error message said that it failed to start and the check
box asking whether I wanted a restart was checked.
When I said OK, it asked me if I wanted to restart
in "Safe mode" - that's Outlook's safe mode. I said yes,
and it took me into a generic Outlook profile that was
partially functional, as you'd expect from a "safe mode".
I have tried everything, including uninstalling the
Bayesian Anti-Spam, Outlook itself, and even a system
checkpoint restoration to a day before. I have disabled
all profiles, created a new profile and basically started a
generic Outlook with no mail POPs or Exchange servers
configured.
No matter what I do, when I run Outlook now, it always
runs in safe mode.
I'd like a list of all new DLLs or DLLs that have been
overwritten as well as registry keys so I can purge
Bayesian Anti-Spam from the system and try a new
Outlook re-install.
Suggestions would also be helpful. Short of a full
system re-install, I am at a loss as to what to do.

I have gone through the system and removed everything
dealing with outlook from the Documents sections and was
able to get it to re-install properly. I'll close this, however, I
wish I had more info on why this occured before I reinstall
this cool addin.
