I know very little about programming i.e c++(STL) and python 2.7. I was wondering if anyone could suggest me some projects ,resources or some bugs which are beginner friendly. So please don't continue discussion here, but since "how do I get started" is such a common question, I'm going to make a suggestion: One place to start in open source is the Open Hatch project. They have a group of really friendly open source enthusiasts who are happy to help you find a project and get you through some first steps to contributing. http://openhatch.org/ If you've got a bit of time to sit on IRC, I recommend you join their channel on freenode and stick around to talk for a while. There are *lots* of great open source projects, and choosing one that fits what you want to do and needs your skills can be pretty hard. The Open Hatch team is pretty great about asking the questions to help you narrow things down and also great about helping you learn the tools you need to do your first patches. https://openhatch.org/wiki/Contact They also have some fun training missions if you just want to get a bit of practice in first: http://openhatch.org/missions/ Terri
