[SciPy-User] SciPY's "Brentq" routine

Well, aparently this should be called the "Harris" algorithm. It may have been inspired by the Brent algorithm, but appears to differ frm it in significant ways. Did you ever publish this? Have a reference to it?
 
If not, could you supply a description suitable for inclusion in the SciPy documentation?
