[SciPy-user] scipy build with gcc on solaris problems

How do I know which compilers I should be using? Which compilers does 
scipy use by default on Solaris 10?

My guess is that I need to compile LAPACK and ATLAS with a combination 
of f77 and cc. The documentation for ATLAS strongly suggests using gcc 
though. Should I ignore this?
