Excellent.

I might actually add another one: one with 'plain pylab' and one
> loading the full scipy profile (scipy adds startup time).


That sounds good too as long as it is given a non-confusing name.  Something
like "Pylab" and "Pylab with SciPy" seems less confusing to me than "Plain
Pylab" and "Pylab".
