I see the same failures on OSX 10.3.9 and python 2.4.2. The problem
shows up in the fftpack module and not the basic.fft functions.
Haven't had time to try and figure out what goes wrong in fftpack. I
see the same problem with fftw-2.1.5 and fftw-3.
