Hi SciPy Organizer team,

My name is Hyungtae Kim and I have submitted my proposal to talk sessions for this year. I was hoping that either talk or poster session would be fine but I selected my proposal to be talk session. Now I have looked around talks and posters session. I could not find my proposal. So I would like to ask you if there is a way to have poster session for me. Perhaps you could have a specific reason for this. Then, I would like to hear your thoughts. Thank you.

Hi Hyungtae,

Thank you for submitting your talk.

We had a record number of submissions for this year's SciPy. Because of the
limited number of slots for papers talks and posters we are unfortunately
not able to offer a slot for your abstract. The possibility exists that we
may be able to offer you a slot after we have received any cancellations
from the initially accepted abstracts. We hope to know by May 26 if this
will be the case.

Milap here from India. I'm an engineering student. I've applied for a
financial aid as I could see on site "Recipient notification is scheduled
to take place May 15, 2015." I didn't get any email. Can you tell me when
should i expect it's result?

Dear Milap:

We notified the recipients of Financial Aid on Friday. We had many strong
applicants and it was a difficult decision. Unfortunately, you were not
selected in the initial group. Right now, we are confirming that those that
were awarded aid, will be attending. If any of the recipients is unable to
attend then we will be able to offer financial aid to the next person on
the list. We will be sending out final confirmations this week.

Thank you for your reply. I understand this situation. I just felt a little embarrassing, but it is also true that my proposal is mostly related to general Python subject. But I am still hoping I could have an extra slot that possibly could be made from any cancellations. Please allow me to send you another email to check if you were able to find any slots May 26.
