[SciPy-dev] changes to stats t-tests

Hi,

These changes look sensible to me.  Because they include bug-fixes, I
would tentatively vote for inclusion in 0.7

I would also like to say a very big thank you for all your work on the
stats package, it has been very encouraging to see all the excellent
and careful work you have been doing.
