[SciPy-dev] I/O features in scipy

Hi all,

I am curious about the interest of users to have an interface
to binary/ascii files generated by NASTRAN or ANSYS (two well-known
finite element packages).

Scipy is able to read/write matrices in MatrixMarket format and Matlab
files. BTW, which
MATLAB versions are currently supported by io.loadmat io.savemat ?

There exists some projects which might be useful in this context.

NASTRAN:

http://savannah.nongnu.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs/tops/tops/usr/extra/op4tools/

ANSYS:

http://evgenii.rudnyi.ru/soft/readAnsys/

Any comment would be appreciated.

Nils
