Yes. scipy.f2py will be developed further in newcore and it does not 
support building against Numeric or numarray arrays, only newcore arrays.

f2py2e has Numeric and numarray support, and very limited newcore support. 
I'll keep it around only for those who cannot upgrade Numeric to newcore 
for whatever reasons. I can fix some bugs but I'll not develop f2py2e 
further.
