This is of general interest to the dev list, so (hopefully with your
permission) I've forwarded it along.  Fernando subscribes to the dev-list as
well as others who may have some help.  Unfortunately, I am not familiar
with libcdf--hopefully someone else will be.

I tried to build SciPy on Mandrake 8.1 with Python2.2 from
the CVS repository.  However, I get an error message saying
that it cannot find libcdf.  Do you know where I might find
libcdf?  I can find a netcdf in my Mandrake distribution; is
this the right thing?  It might be useful if fperez could update
his CVS build instruction page to include references to CDF.
