just got to python.,org, and download and install the 2.5.2 *.pkg.

Then make sure that any other packages you install are built for that 
version. There are some here:

http://pythonmac.org/packages/py25-fat/index.html

Though that's not being maintained well at this point :-(

The other option is to build from source:

$ python setup.py build
$ sudo python setup.py install

Which works with many packages. You do need to have the developer tools 
installed for this to work with C-coded extensions.

setuptools also often works:

$ easy_install ThePackageName
