Python 2.4.3/IDLE 1.1.3; appscript just raises a 'no window manager connection' in the interpreter window. Dunno why.

Indeed. And it would make a lovely little MacPython editor if only someone were willing and able to lavish lots of TLC on its UI. As I say, another discussion for another time - not dissing it, just noting that even the nicest of icons isn't going to solve all its problems. And I definitely don't have any time at the moment to contribute - still getting to grips with Cocoa, never mind learning Tk as well. I know my limits, and they suck. :p
