[Pythonmac-SIG] MacPython/Tk problems

I installed MacPython on an OS 9 machine this morning
and got a warning message about Tk not being compatible
with Carbon.   This is a machine in an elementary school
and the teacher is excited about using Python as a tool
for teaching some basic programming at the grade school
level, but he would really like to use some of the tools
that have been developed using Tk  (turtle being one of them).

The OS cannot be upgraded.  Is there anyway to get Python
working with Tk in this configuration?
