I've seen this too, Jack -- in fact I mentioned it in one of my earlier
OSX reports, but I didn't dig into the details (Mostly cause I stay pretty
much in OSX unless I have an urgent need to play Bugdom!)

I get a response, I'll forward it here. 

I wonder if it has something to do with FindFolder and the different
way that OSX has to handle preferences due to being multi-user.
