[PYTHONMAC-SIG] Numerical Python on the Mac

Does anyone know if the numerical python extensions developed by the
matrix-sig have been (are being?) ported to the Mac?

The current web page suggests that this is going on but has not been
updated in some months.  If a port is not underway, could anyone provide
me with pointers about how to go about doing a port?
