It's probably worth your installing the wmi module:
https://pypi.python.org/pypi/WMI/
(pip install wmi will do it). In addition to easing the pain of using
wmi with Python, it includes a useful wmiweb.py script, installed in eg
c:\python27\scripts which lets you browse the available namespaces and
objects.
