The Python track is on Thursday 29th March, and admission costs about £80 per day. Most people present are experienced Java / C/ C++ programmers. If anyone wants to come down, contact the organisers, and drop a note to the list as well - they would be happy to have more Python atttendees! The organiser is also very receptive to us piggybacking an extended Python track onto their Autumn conference, as they do events twice a year. Tibs -- Tony J Ibbs (Tibs) http://www.tibsnjoan.co.uk/ .. "equal" really means "in some sense the same, but maybe not .. the sense you were hoping for", or, more succinctly, "is .. confused with". If anyone's interested, I can mail mine direct to them. I've got 3+ years of Python experience, including Tkinter, xmlrpc, C and C++ extensions (with and without SWIG). I'm lead developer on a portable system management application (runs on Windows 9x and NT, Solaris, HP-UX and Linux). In addition to Python I've got 15 years of C, 5 years of C++, solid Windows and UNIX development experience doing device drivers and TSRs as well as 20 years of network client server development. BTW - does anyone who thinks it was OK to post this to the list think it's OK to post to comp.lang.python as well? I'm only interested in UK jobs but don't know how many UK Pythonistas read this list. And if so, can anyone suggest a suitable pub. -- Duncan Booth duncan@dales.rmplc.co.uk int month(char *p){return(124864/((p[0]+p[1]-p[2]&0x1f)+1)%12)["\5\x8\3" "\6\7\xb\1\x9\xa\2\0\4"];} // Who said my code was obscure? http://dales.rmplc.co.uk/Duncan From jkn@nicorp.f9.co.uk Thu Mar 15 16:53:35 2001 From: jkn@nicorp.f9.co.uk (jkn@nicorp.f9.co.uk) Date: 15 Mar 2001 16:53:35 -0000 Subject: [Python-uk] UK Python meeting in Oxford? I won't be there until Thursday, when the conference starts; on Friday night there is a general reception from 17:45-19:30 so I guess the thing would be to meet there and degenerate from that point onwards. - Andy
