From barry at python.org Wed Jul 10 14:53:42 2013 From: barry at python.org (Barry Warsaw) Date: Wed, 10 Jul 2013 08:53:42 -0400 Subject: [Python-porting] Public wishlist of Python 3 ports? Message-ID: <20130710085342.1b31440a@anarchist> At work, we've been discussing the blockers for Python 3 adoption, which mostly boil down to a few critical packages. I wonder if it makes sense to publish in some wiki page or other, a list of packages that people would like to see ported. It would be even cooler if folks could vote on those packages, or sign up to help work together on a port. We've seen some really awesome progress on the move to Python 3 over the last year or two. 2013 is the year of Python 3! How can we amp up the pace and really push us over the edge toward more Python 3 and less Python 2? -Barry -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... It's been running for several years now. Pylons will probably not be ported to Python 3, for example, but it's replacement, Pyramid, supports it. //Lennart From barry at python.org Wed Jul 10 15:28:59 2013 From: barry at python.org (Barry Warsaw) Date: Wed, 10 Jul 2013 09:28:59 -0400 Subject: [Python-porting] Public wishlist of Python 3 ports? But the results are definitely out of date, and there's no way a group of volunteers can sign up to work together to get the package ported. It would also be nice to somehow communicate these results more widely, e.g. to the authors of the packages. - -Barry -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.20 (GNU/Linux) iQIcBAEBCAAGBQJR3WGbAAoJEBJutWOnSwa//qEQAKUeWZx66RaTe5BadX1ztdhC XhdeXskw0c9hDQxILoScCmzsrxzA/LHJHEeddroyhHLjl3gNf4Hyljh648aYaBRf yO7NkBMy+wm/3VbScmQe9zBkF6hDJQeC9JvkAvFxCLLiUY6N9razhqm8a0cArQiK F/ar1tkWidL3bPgGtuHbVOV7P9z73zekCZh2rd10EpPU7J5OntD6Js21b2vuyFxL TDbn8amV2CflgEGnYu0kbRalhtRU6V8mkiHALhe32kugyynxaUal4RqMRpGv3RL/ Rx1Tsrro+iwbDZfNa+FioprmqglYn9aX9TUhSOVmWfjx2G/8WaNkBXm1qMrxj6xR wP/sgyitCFEIndd9lsmDjRFobr7gH74R+LybMIvNiirG58QvcR83AAyPToAqm+Qt 1I4pmBVTWwIjxyEFh/7+5oEoUN3r/XPqy0Q7Zoi4TFnm4jLMoS/Uwnc8kl2zLCj/ /v7Bb28q6hrmV0LFhFDml+X/W4/pQFf6pld5oV4rIWHyUb2AnPMj4QiUCo3Tu50/ ESwaQ/wifOkpvq0iVHdm5Rpx6Y9VwG2Hn3pnVodfHo5OVxiAsvS9y/QI+t375iza nRYU+kKvdd5pS9HwtpHi2oRtIWFJ+QASIMruF72aeDsVivmqK/7cG/tuCfiBdHJY exW6MY8RwWqe0fT1anBc =XEB9 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- From barry at python.org Wed Jul 10 15:30:15 2013 From: barry at python.org (Barry Warsaw) Date: Wed, 10 Jul 2013 09:30:15 -0400 Subject: [Python-porting] Public wishlist of Python 3 ports?
