My version  says:
PyCharm 2018.1.4 (Community Edition)

JVM: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM by JetBrains s.r.o
Windows 7 6.1

When I try to use an input statment, the program freezes.  I have to
terminate it.

What happens when you try to run code with an input statment?
