Cant make out much
I suspect gcc gets inconsistent (with itself) across widely disparate versions
When I give [ubuntu 16.4]
$ gcc -v
I get
gcc version 5.4.0 20160609 (Ubuntu 5.4.0-6ubuntu1~16.04.2)
(along with a lot of other stuff!)

What does your gcc say?
