In NZ our fire engines have FIRE written both forwards and
backwards on the front, so it's readable either way. Not
sure about ambulances offhand, I'll check next time I see
one.

We also have CROSSING RAILWAY and BRIDGE LANE ONE signs
written on the road surface. :-)
