Not sure about that. "Myself" is a reflexive pronoun,
used when the subject and object of a verb are the same.
So "I did this research by myself" is correct. But if
Bob is involved, the subject and object are different,
so "myself" is not appropriate.

Whether that's a syntax error or a semantic error,
I'm not enough of a linguist to say.
