Importerror: cannot import name httpshandler linux

I tried installing Python 2.7.11 on HP-UX which already has all the build and run time dependencies installed on it such as openssl, libffi, etc. But after installing python , I tried installing some open source packages using pip. But pip thows the error:
Importerror: cannot import name httpshandler linux.

 PLease help me out to resolve this.
