Python 32 bit error

I am running a 32 bit computer, (Windows XP) and when I finish with the installer program, I try to run either of the two executable files that are put on my computer and they both come up with the message "python.exe is not a valid Win32 application"

Also, in the installer program, some of the buttons are invisible.
