You know, one of the attractions of Python used to be that it came with
a powerful enough standard library that you didn't really need third
party modules very often.  I realize there's so much useful code out
there now that it's unrealistic to get by with just the stdlib as much
as before, but maybe that should have been taken as a sign of maturity,
calling for higher unwillingness to break stuff.
