Is there a way to display source code for Python function?

Hi,
I tried:

def func(a):
  a = 'abcd'

>>> inspect.getsource(func)
Traceback (most recent call last):

    lines, lnum = getsourcelines(object)

    raise IOError('could not get source code')

What is wrong?
