Automating windows media player on win7

I've found that adding PlayItem and sleep seems to work:

mp.CurrentPlaylist.AppendItem(tune)
mp.Controls.Play()

mp.Controls.PlayItem(tune)
raw_input("Press Enter to stop playing")
mp.Controls.Stop()
