Python <-> "this will be a book".

For editing purpose, do you need to extract your raw material for
somewhere? to create graphics? to parse files?

or

Are you expecting to compose your book with Python knowing you
have the existing material (texts, pictures, ...) and a PDF tool?

In the former case, generate a TeX text file (.tex).
In the latter case, use TeX. :-)
