maybe this will help:

In [5]: list_of_listsA = [['klas*', '*', '*'], ['mooi*', '*', '*', '*'], 
['arm*', '*    ', '*(haar)']]
In [6]: s = ""
In [7]: print [[s.join(item)] for item in list_of_listsA]
[['klas***'], ['mooi****'], ['arm**    *(haar)']]
